Today we are celebrating our 4th year anniversary of our relationship, he picks me off from work and head back to change so that we can go out and celebrate : )   We have chosen Miam Miam Café as our dinner of anniversary and I'm really glad we did! Miam Miam Café, located at Gurney Paragon is a Japanese mix French cuisine. Once we step into the cafe, I found the ambiance was very relax and chic. The chair in blue and yellow add a hint of playful feeling into the whole design. And look into the menu, it offer a range of Pasta and baked rice as main dish, and a wide range of French toast and dessert to choose from.   We have ordered a plate of Miam Miam spaghetti, the portion is rather big enough thus we decided to share it. The café actually provide 2 small plate for us to share the spaghetti, so sweet : ) The spaghetti is so well cook and it taste so springy in the mouth. Sautéed with frankfurters, tomatoes, baby spin...

Langkawi trip Day 2: Gunung Raya Highest peak in Langkawi

The last stop of Day 2 sight seeing, the highest peak in Langkawi Gunung Raya. This is my second time visit to Gunung Raya, the last time was back in 2009 with my course mate. I remember Gunung Raya for its freeze and cooling air and we had a wonderful time there, so I decided to visit it again. Click here for the coordination, if you refer to the reference map that I have shared before, then it is on Point I , not too far away from Air Hangat Village.    It is a 12km drive to the hill peak, and the journey start off quite scary this time. LOL!!!! Not too long after we turn into the road direct to the hill top, we saw a snake went crossing the road and it looks like a king cobra *omg..... Due to that, we all dare not wind down the window, just afraid that a second one might just fall into our car. However, this is just a sharing, please do not be afraid to visit Gunung Raya just because of that : )   Besides the scary part, there is also an ex...

Next on the map after Black Sand beach, the Air Hangat village with less than 5 mins drive. I have attached the photo below for your reference. It is a map which you can get it at the airport tourism information counter, which provide accurate location information. As you can see below, Point A is where Black Sand beach located and Point B is Air Hangat Village. You may also refer to this coordination if you wish to use GPS to get to there, however this is an estimation as we could not find the correct one on Google map. You will find it on your right coming from the direction of round about.     Upon arrival, we found this place is very quite and mind calming, with a few pond with hot spring water coming out from the ground. There is also a few private room available for luxury spa experience, which I did not ask for the price *not plan to experience, must be very expensive : (   Hot spring is known for the benefit of increasing b...

Langkawi trip Day 2: Black Sand Beach Langkawi

After taking shower and get some rest back in hotel, we headed out for some round the island activity!!! 1st stop we went to the famous black sand beach or Pantai Pasir Hitam, located at Jalan Teluk Yu on the north side of the island. According to the local folklore (information replicated from information board):   The black sand at this beach was the outcome of an ancient civil war between the Land Kingdom and the Underwater Kingdom. The was started when a mermaid princess from the Underwater Kingdom fell in love and ran away with the prince of the Land Kingdom. The war was basically a one-sided affair, since the Underwater Kingdom had more troops than the Land Kingdom. However, the Land Kingdom had a wise man who gave brilliant advise to help secure their victory. The wise man instructed the people of the Land Kingdom to collect firewood and stack it up along the seashore. Before dawn, all the firewood was burned and the flames could be seen miles away. When th...

Where to eat in Langkawi: Chinese coffee shop

Saw a lot of post complaint about there is no Chinese food in Langkawi, so here I am to share where did I find Chinese food in Langkawi during my trip.   Besides the seafood restaurant Tong Sham Yun Seafood  which you could read about the review following the link above, I'm gonna share about the lunch that we had after island hooping.   This is the kind of coffee shop that we could find around Malaysia, however I did not see much in Langkawi. We found it on our way back to hotel in the afternoon, located at the end of the same street where Hotel Bahagia located. Sorry for not remember the name of the shop, but it is easy to spot if you can find Hotel Bahagia, or follow the coordination I shared below.   There is not much variety or stall in the shop, and we saw most of the customer are from local and many of them are having Pan Mee. So we follow and ordered dried Pan Mee which cost RM 5.00. Quite reasonable in fact, knowing we a...

Langkawi Trip Day 2: Island Hooping

Day 2 Morning: Island Hooping   After having our breakfast at Hotel Bahagia, we head to Underwater World located at Pantai Cenang to meet up our pick up van with the contact provided by the guy where we rent our Myvi. We got a fair price from this guy of RM25 per person, with the recommendation from car rental guy : )   However, the van that they use to pick us up is old and bad in shape, with the air-cond not working well : ( But we are just taking this van for a short distance so we don't really mind. We were told to wait at the beach side to be call on board, so we waited and took some photos!   And finally our boat has come and we have to literally walk into the water in order to get up to the boat, it is kind of difficult for mummy to get up the boat but she manage with papa's help *sweet sweet oh* And after everyone get set with their life jacket, the boat is ready to go!! It is a great experience where the boat is speeding but the boatma...

Langkawi Seafood: 同心圆 GLK TONG SHAM YUN Seafood Restaurant

Langkawi Day 1: Dinner   We have chosen Tong Sham Yun Seafood as our first night dinner. Read a few review about Wonderland and Tong Sham Yun which is located side by side in Kuah town, I decided to go to Tong Sham Yun as the review is better in term of service and charge.   And we can see that Wonderland is full of foreigners that dine in there, while Tong Sham Yun have more of local or Malaysian tourist. The atmosphere is nice, located just beside a river and the dining is open aired. The owner is nice and friendly, recommended a few dishes which I think is definitely recommended!!! First on the list, the santan prawn 椰汁虾 (RM 27). Nice and sweet, with the aroma of santan and some spice such as curry, the combination is very nice and it taste surprise to me. I have never taste prawn which is cook in this manner and it is good : ) Definitely thumbs up for this!   The steam fish, freshly catch (not the frozen type). Cost us RM 8 per 100g (RM 4...
