I Luv Denmark_Part 2: Place of Interest

I know it has been a long time since my last post for my Denmark trip. Sorry for the delay.... Ok, as per promise in Part 1, I will share about the places of interest and also some food and beverage that I have tried along the trip. I will list it out as below with some pictures and comments on the individual places, hope you will enjoy!

1. The Little Mermaid Sculpture

A bronze statue displayed at the waterfront at the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen, is the landmark of must visit when you come to Copenhagen Denmark. Sit at the top of my list is due to I grown up with the fairy tale of Little Mermaid written by Hans Christian Andresen.

2. St. Alban Church

After taking some picture of The little mermaid, we explore around the area and came across this beautiful church which is open to public. It is call St. Alban Church, which is built in 1887.

3. Nyhavn

The New Harbour, the waterfront of Copenhagen since 17th century, now is the district of entertainment where bars, cafes and restaurants. Well known with the colorful stretch of old townhouse overseeing the waterfront. A slow walk through the Nyhavn in the morning, enjoying the fresh breeze from the sea and sit down for some freshly baked bread and a cup of coffee. Best day of my life.

4. The Copenhagen Opera House, Amalienborg and The Marble Church

The Copenhagen Opera House which is built in aligned with the Amalienborg and The Marble Church, is the national opera house of Denmark. Standing at the waterfront north to Nyhavn you may see the opera house sitting opposite to the Amelienborg, located on the island of Holmen.

Next we visit the Amalienborg and to take a look at the famous Royal Guard which is very similar to the British Royal Guard. The Royal Guard will march from the Marble Church across the street of Copenhagen and execute the exchange of the Royal guard which takes place at 11.30am every day in front of Amalienborg.

The marble church – also known as Frederik’s Church located west of Amalienborg castle. Famous for its rococo style architecture. The entrance to the main dome of the church is free and the interior is definitely worth a visit.

5. Helsingor & Helsingborg

Helsingor, also known as Elsinore is a city located on the north of the Zealand island of Denmark (where Copenhagen located). While Helsingborg belongs to Sweden and we can travel between these 2 cities via a ferry which takes about 15 minutes.

Upon arrival at Helsingor, we head to the male-maid located near to the waterfront. The male-maid is called Hans, and he is made of chrome if not mistaken. Anyhow, he looks super shiny and polish, compare to the little mermaid in Copenhagen. And you will be able to get near to him in order to take a picture.

Oh Hans ~ ~

There is also a Castle, called Kronborg Castle at Helsingor. We did not went inside to the castle, however it is still very interesting to walk around the compound of the castle, just to get a feel of how this castle used to stronghold and maintain the coastal line for Denmark.

Besides that, take a walk through the business street of Helsingor, you will find the charming side of Denmark countryside. If you are lucky there will be flea market where you can discover some great vintage stuff at a good bargain price. If you are not looking to buy anything, just to enjoy the great atmosphere here then!

At the weekend flea market

A super short trip to Sweden from Helsingor by the ferry which took about 15 minutes and cost about 57dkk, where Swedish people like to spend their weekend on the boat to enjoy the cheap beer from Denmark :)

And here we are in Sweden!! Look much alike with Denmark....

It is a little late when I reach Sweden, it is 4pm in the afternoon but all shops were almost close due to the season in Autumn. So kindly plan your time wise if you wish to shop there!

We manage to went up one of the tower

Great great view from the top!!

6. Frederiksborg

Frederiksborg castle is located in Hillerod, Denmark. There are many castle in Scandinavian countries but this is one of largest and definitely one of the most gorgeous. Originally built as a royal residence for King Christian IV, and it is now a museum of national history for Denmark. Let’s take a look of the castle!

That's about the places that I have visited during my stay in Denmark, and if you are visiting Copenhagen only I will recommend the first 4 in the list. And if you plan to explore a little bit further from Copenhagen I will recommend Frederiksborg castle because it definitely worth to travel for! I hope you guys enjoy the post and find it helpful! See you soon ~

Langkawi Seafood: 同心圆 GLK TONG SHAM YUN Seafood Restaurant

Langkawi Day 1: Dinner   We have chosen Tong Sham Yun Seafood as our first night dinner. Read a few review about Wonderland and Tong Sham Yun which is located side by side in Kuah town, I decided to go to Tong Sham Yun as the review is better in term of service and charge.   And we can see that Wonderland is full of foreigners that dine in there, while Tong Sham Yun have more of local or Malaysian tourist. The atmosphere is nice, located just beside a river and the dining is open aired. The owner is nice and friendly, recommended a few dishes which I think is definitely recommended!!! First on the list, the santan prawn 椰汁虾 (RM 27). Nice and sweet, with the aroma of santan and some spice such as curry, the combination is very nice and it taste surprise to me. I have never taste prawn which is cook in this manner and it is good : ) Definitely thumbs up for this!   The steam fish, freshly catch (not the frozen type). Cost us RM 8 per 100g (RM 48 in total), the owner has ch

Where to eat in Langkawi: Chinese coffee shop

Saw a lot of post complaint about there is no Chinese food in Langkawi, so here I am to share where did I find Chinese food in Langkawi during my trip.   Besides the seafood restaurant Tong Sham Yun Seafood  which you could read about the review following the link above, I'm gonna share about the lunch that we had after island hooping.   This is the kind of coffee shop that we could find around Malaysia, however I did not see much in Langkawi. We found it on our way back to hotel in the afternoon, located at the end of the same street where Hotel Bahagia located. Sorry for not remember the name of the shop, but it is easy to spot if you can find Hotel Bahagia, or follow the coordination I shared below.   There is not much variety or stall in the shop, and we saw most of the customer are from local and many of them are having Pan Mee. So we follow and ordered dried Pan Mee which cost RM 5.00. Quite reasonable in fact, knowing we are tourist : ) All of us feel satisfy with th
